Social sling meets are held from 10:00 – 12:00 at St Luke’s Church, Canning Crescent, OX1 4XB. We ask for £1 per family suggested donation from non-members. There is free parking on Canning Crescent and at the Redbridge Park & Ride just down the road. Buses from central Oxford and Abingdon stop right by the cul-de-sac end of Canning Crescent.
Our monthly sling meets are a great way to meet like-minded parents (both mums and dads are welcome!) and share sling skills. Oxfordshire Sling Library is there to browse and hire from. Drinks and biscuits are provided, and there is space for children to play. Toys for babies and toddlers are available, and when the weather is good there is an enclosed garden for outdoor play.
These are mainly a social event, but we will have one babywearing consultant ‘on duty’ for anyone who would like help with choosing and wearing a suitable sling. Please bear in mind that the consultant will be acting in a voluntary capacity and will probably have young children with her who may need her attention, so the level of help you can expect won’t be the same as at a workshop or individual consultation. The amount of time the consultant can spend with you will also depend on how busy the meet is.
Those coming to the meet are of course welcome to share their babywearing skills with each other.
